Well the last of my burners has gone out. The oven hasn't worked forever. I use a convection oven now. Anyone know of anything inexpensive or reliable that is just a burner or two? I can't afford a complete oven.

I'm sure I've seen them in appliance stores - A unit with two burners, or something like that. I'm not sure if they plug into the 110 volt sockets or if you need the 220 service.

We have a little camping stove. We got ours at a sporting goods store. I am not sure if it is safe for indoor use though, if I remember correctly it runs on propane.

Try looking on craigs list or free cycle. Sometimes people get new things and get rid of perfectly working appliances.

I don't think a propane unit would be suitable for indoor use. And I know someone who used to salvage large appliances, and I agree that many functional ones are thrown out.

That's my problem. I know there are camping ones that operate on DC or whatever, but I need something for regular AC.

I have also seen the warming plates, do not think they get hot enough to cook on though. Maybe just for heating up food.
Do you have a crock pot? Many things can be made in one.
