TOPIC: How should I set up a links page?

How should I set up a links page? 1 year, 8 months ago #2148

  • Bruce
I have been submitting my site, www.myoquip.com.au to directories and have been listed in 35 so far. Initially, being inexperienced, I hesitated to exchange links but now feel that this is an obvious next step.

My plan was to have navigation buttons, "Link Directory" and "Link to Us", on the home page. However, when I visit other sites, I sometimes find it rather hard to find the location of their links.

Why are the links virtually hidden? Are they only there to be picked up by search engines' web crawlers rather than by real visitors to the websites. Any advice would be appreciated.

Regards
Bruce

Bruce, websites that exchange links often hide the links. They are virtually worthless. If you want to build quality links, than produce good content and market your content in forums. Also consider guest blogging on popular blogs and magazines in your industry. Form alliances with businesses that are in a similar industry but don't compete with you (e.g. the business offers compatible but non-competitive services our is outside the geographic area where you compete). Most of these "Link to us" sites aren't worth the hassle.
