This is a great way for sharing leads and learning new ways to run your business.

For the really tech savvy: you can help them out by creating an online forum just for them, so they can stay in touch in a convenient way on your website or an online space with your branding.

It's not an informal club, but I've attended musician's union meetings and spoken to people who had some interesting ideas, and good websites.

There also were a few of the older generation there who were still resisting the evils of email.

I agree that joining such clubs is great for your business, but isn't it a slow way to build business?

Yes, but so is networking.

I agree it is relatively untargeted, but you will have to spend your social time somewhere. Why not think about how your social life can benefit your business?

And that reminds me of the "elevator speech" that I think was mentioned in another thread, where you have something like a 20 second description of what your business is that you can present to anyone you meet.
