TOPIC: HARO

HARO 1 year, 12 months ago #1024

Have you tried Haro?

HARO (Help Out A Reporter) emails lists of topics reporters need interviews for. The lists are sent twice a day and may be a great way to gain a little free PR!

This sounds like a great tool. It's like CNN's iReport on steroids (because it reaches more outlets.)

I have no experience with HARO, but will definitely try it out.

That is interesting. And did you notice some of the sources mentioned, including the New York Times and ABC News?

I wonder in a practical sense how often a business could submit to that service? I guess it would be more frequently if it had different slants for stories.

I did actually sign up, and the service is quite impressive.

Reporters post their questions, by topic. Twice a day, you get an email that shows you their questions by topic. You then have the opportunity to reply back on those topics where you feel you have something authoritative to say.

It would seem they make money through advertising, meaning that in the email, before the featured questions, there is a blatant ad poorly disguised as a news story.

Another website that does this is profnet.com which is owned by PR Newswire. This is a great way to bring your business to the attention of the press.
