I think of the viral messages I'm familiar with, videos are definitely the most popular. For example, the Bridezilla video of a year or so ago seemed very popular.

Are there other approaches that have been successful, like illusions that appear in the body of an email or online? I've seen some compelling examples of those, but I don't think they were attached to a viral marketing campaign.

I think that videos are a great way to go. People are very video-centric these days. Video games are popular, people are still crazy about Youtube. We're into visuals so any advertisement that can be visually entertaining has a good chance of reaching today's customer.

Well I have a review site that caters to video games and I have seen that most of my visitors came from youtube because of my review videos. My videos are game specific but short so it gives me a slight edge and such but not that much.

well videos are good for targeting broadband customers. If your customers are middle class and above this would benefit. Main attraction is you could convince customer about your idea in few seconds..
