I have heard there are certain sites that help you know google pagerank of any site. what are they and how do they work. And yes, how are they useful?

I've never found anything that really tells me anything, so I'm pretty useless here. :}

If you install the Google Toolbar you can enable pagerank on it. In other words, every web page you visit will have its Page Rank displayed in the Google Toolbar.
