TOPIC: Is it a good practice to use client logo in the proposal?

Is it a good practice to use client logo in the proposal? 2 years, 5 months ago #105

I have found mixed responses to this on the web. Some feel use of client logo gives a personalized look to the proposal however few commented that client logo taken from their website is always copyrighted and cannot be used while creating / submitting proposals.

Request you to share your thoughts on this topic.

Yes, it shows you've researched the company and showing their logo alongside your logo in a presentation does enhance a feeling of corporation.

Whatever you do, treat the logo with respect. I once saw a presentation from an advertising agency titled: "Brand wars. Is your brand buried in the clutter?"

They showed a whole heap of logos, all stacked on each other in a heap, with the clients logo hidden in between these logos.

The CEO of the company was present in the meeting (I don't think that was expected) and took offense.

Treating the logo with respect can avoid an emotional reaction. Remember, we aren't always rational creatures and we must respect each others emotional attachments.
Always here when you need me. I am the forum administrator and a web designer for Online Design Bureau.

I agree, I think proper use of their logo can have a positive response. If I was a business owner I would appreciate the extra attention with my logo included in the proposal.

Using the client logo in the presentation immediately shows that you researched the company. Extra points if the presentation is personalized for the company you are presenting too. It says that you don't just view the company as a lunch ticket, but are focused on its goals.

If you've been contacted to make a proposal, using company information and their logo, is a positive thing. A former presentation should also be specific towards the company.

In advertising we are always working on client logos and how to change it...so yes..we are therefore always using the client's logo...but on another though...for businesses we are pitching...when we use the client logo..it is definitely seen as a sign of us knowing the company before approaching it...and that's good.
