How do you know what will be a good domain name? I mean what do I need to consider before buying?

think about what the site is for.. make the name easy to remember, and that it indicates what the site is about..
Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.

I'd also consider if your chosen name is available of course, and if it's going to be similar to another significant site.

For example, a Canadian politician named Belinda Stronach had a site that was very similar in name to a soft porn site, which wasn't a very good idea.

That's very true. There's nothing like getting complaints from consumers because they mistype your name and end up somewhere they don't want to be.

And that reminds me of the topic of considering to register typos, which I believe has been discussed in another thread here somewhere.

I wonder if the most frequently occurring typos are easy to predict?

I suggest choosing a domain name that is catchy and easy to remember.

Nothing with a "-" if it can be helped

Nothing too long

Domain name that is unique.

Try to go for a .com
