Are website builders okay to use for a website you want to hopefully make fairly popular? Will it hurt me to use that type of thing or do I have to learn scripting?

I would like to know this too because I have considered doing one with the Godaddy Website Tonight accounts. Are those okay?

I'm not sure what you mean by website builder. Are those templates? I'm learning a lot of terminology here, so would appreciate the information. Thanks.

A website builder is an online tool that helps you build webpages without having to learn coding. It has all the colours and buttons and tools for laying out smart proffesional looking pages without the professional prices. It can also be a software product that lets you build your pages on your pc and then upload them once they are done.

There is no reason not to use one if you think coding is too much like hard work. THere are so many ont he market that the only problem will be choosing one you like.
